Fun at the park in Liberty

We went to the park in Liberty with the Walkers and had lots of fun. They took their dog Henna to get some exercise and Cora thought it was something else, look at the bottom right picture. Henna is a very sweet and calm chocolate lab, she wouldn't hurt a fly. However, Cora would think otherwise...she couldn't keep her eyes off of Henna. She had to follow her wherever she went, even if that meant almost breaking her neck to see her. Now, with any animals, she can't get enough of them. She does this cute little grunting noise until she gets close to them, then she loves to pet them and give them kisses. Her favorite thing to watch on tv is anything to do with animals. She just goes crazy for them. In fact, the other day, we watched the movie Alvin and the Chipmunks and she just loved watching the little chipmunks. She kept grunting and trying to wiggle her way over to the tv to touch them. She sure is cute!!

Easter 2008

Here are our Easter Family pics and pics from the Easter Sunday. The girls loved getting presents from the Easter Bunny. Cora especially loved getting her chocolate! We got to spend it with Uncle Quentin, but unfortunately didn't get any pictures of him as he was our camera-man! Thanks Uncle Quentin!

This year Easter was actually on the same day as my birthday! That was pretty cool as it probably only happens like once in a blue moon...someone told me the statistics and I don't remember them, but it was really once in a blue moon. So Nick did actually bake me a cake! It was a good birthday!

Looking for the Easter Bunny

Is the Easter Bunny here yet? After church on Easter Sunday, we told Kayley the Easter Bunny had made a visit to her house while she was in the bathroom going potty. We told her he had just left, so she jumped up on the couch and immediately looked for him out the window. It was pretty cute!

My Birthday present and my Hunter, Kayley

This is my African hunter. My birthday present consisted of going shopping for a day and we went to Legends to shop/eat, also where Cabella's is. Well there is a great stuff animal display and Kayley found a net and went to go try and catch herself some elephants. The funny thing about this was that about 2 minutes before this picture was taken, she wouldn't go near the elephants without someone holding her hand. I guess she found her courage and embraced it!! :)

Welcome Preston James Walker

Here are some pictures of when Preston was born. He is quite a bit bigger now as he was born about a month ago. He came on Friday, March 21st and weighed in at 9 pounds 1.5 ounces and 21.5 inches long. We're glad he came in safe and sound and he's a great addition to our extended family!

Dying Easter Eggs 2008

Kayley dying her first Easter eggs with her cousins...yes I know Easter is now a month away in the past, but I still wanted to post these as well as some more Easter pictures. Kayley was pretty proud of herself dying these eggs.

My Grandpa John

These next few pictures were all taken during the first part of March when our sweet Grandpa John Sargent passed away. One sweet story I wanted to make record of from Carrie Yanson...Aunt Tootie a few years ago was hospitalized and Grandpa was one of her doctors. He came in to check on her and he noticed her toe nails needed to be trimmed. So he got a hold of some finger nail clippers and cut them for her. She insisted that he didn't need to do that, but he made sure she knew it was no big deal and that he saw they needed to be trimmed and was more than happy to take the time to trim them for her. He then told her a story about another patient he had had in the past who was in a coma. When he went in to check on her, he noticed that she had some chin hairs that needed to be plucked. He asked the nurse in the room to find him some tweezers so he could pluck her chin. The nurse made the comment that she was in a coma and wouldn't even notice that those hairs were there. He then replied that he knew that when people came to see her and family came to visit her, the patient would not want to be seen with those chin hairs, whether she was in a coma or not. So he gladly plucked her chin hairs for her.

I wish that all of us could take this example of sweet simple kindness that Grandpa often shared with others and the world would be a better place. We love and miss Grandpa very much and am grateful to his great example and great legacy he and Grandma have made with our family.

Ode to Mrs. Johnson!! :) For those of you who don't know, Mrs. Johnson has been a part of our family from as long as I personally can remember. We were really excited to see her this weekend. This was the first time she got to see Cora as the last time we saw her I was pregnant. Cora went to her very easily...that just shows you just how special she is to our family! :)

We loved getting to visit with Aunt Tootie and Cousin Carrie. We all loved getting to stay at Carrie's house and get to hang out with one another!

Kisses for Ross

About 1 1/2 months ago, our beloved Grandpa Sargent unfortunately passed away. We love and miss him dearly. However it was a bitter sweet time as most funerals are...we got to see lots of cousins we don't get to see very often. I don't know who was more excited, us or Cora...she sure does love to give out kisses, especially to her younger cousins! Ellie, can you breathe?

NOT a Weekend Job!!

These are pictures from Arlaine's bathroom Nick, Arlaine, and I thought we could get done in one weekend...as you can see it got to be a bigger project than either one of us expected it to be! Nick actually had to crawl underneath the house to nail ply-wood to re-do the base the toilet was to sit on. Now you can go to the bathroom in there without fearing you're going to fall through the floor! Trust me...I'm surprised nobody fell through it already! I'm not sure how long it took for her to have it finally finished, but it's finally finished and no...I don't have an after picture for it...so you'll all have to go see it in person until I get a picture of it on my camera!

Princess Hats

I was so excited to find these hats at Walmart. Both Kayley and Cora got princess hats for a $1 each both with gloves. I had to get pics of them and Cora's hat has to be my favorite! She looks like one of those cops that can't move or say anything...I think they are from Canada?!? Although Cora isn't quite like them as she smiled a lot while wearing the hat!

Beauty Shop

One of Kayley's favorite things to do is play beauty shop! Cora is a good sport in letting her sister play with her hair...although it's not quite long enough to do much with it! It's still cute enough to see her do people's hair!
